Event description

DolCom 2020, in its first edition, will take place in Canazei (Val di Fassa, Italy), the heart of one of the most amazing mountain areas of the world: the Dolomites.

Researchers and students will meet in an informal and relaxed environment to share their visions of future research in radio communications. Indoor sessions for seniors will start at 4 pm every day; the rest of the day will be dedicated to outdoor networking.

Students will also attend lectures on soft skills and public speaking and participate in a PhD contest.

The programme will include:

  • Four keynotes
  • Technical presentations (there are no proceedings)
  • Interactive thematic sessions (when students meet seniors)
  • A PhD contest
  • A School on Soft Skills and Public Speaking

Technical Presentations (Seniors & Students)

  • Every day, three presentations per day
  • Call for abstracts
  • Deadline for submission of a one-page abstract: 21 July 2020

 

Interactive Sessions

  • Four thematic sessions, one per day, animated by a moderator
  • Keynote speaker + two more seniors will discuss with students
  • Themes identified based on preference expressed by registrants at time of registration (before Early Bird deadline)

 

PhD Contest

  • Students will give a 3-5 min presentation with slides
  • Scope: highlight of the main idea/concept/scenario of PhD
  • Committee of seniors will make questions and identify winner
  • Winner announced during last breakfast on Friday

The number of participants is limited to 70. Registrations will be accepted on a First-Come-First-Served policy.
The registration fee includes:

  • Four nights at the Schloss Hotel Dolomiti****
  • Four breakfasts, four dinners, four coffee breaks
  • One lunch for students

EURACON Members will avail of a discounted fee.
